You guys ROCK!  Last night I co-hosted with Beth J. Hayden the first webinar Image of Special Price Labelfor The Private Practice Online Survival Guide. Board Certified Music Therapist JoAnn Jordan stepped in at the very last minute to act as our professional twitterer.  Thank you, JoAnn!  You were fabulous!

We had folks from as far away as Israel, the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, Great Brittain, and Australia with us!  I saw lots of my LinkedIn colleagues and the Social Media LoveFest gang there, too!  We had a full house and ran out of time before all of the comments and questions could be heard and answered. (As a first timer, I guess I have a bit to learn about hosting webinars!)  This morning, Beth and I are continuing to hear from those who attended last night.  It was SO MUCH FUN!  Thanks so much for making this a HUGE SUCCESS!

As a “thank you,” we want you to be the first to know that we kick off a 4-week series next Tuesday, July 5th at 11 a.m.  It’s called WOW on the Web – Building a Container of Trust and Credibility Online.  Here’s what you will be learning in this series:

  • How to identify your ideal client (and why that’s so important to building your credibility);
  • How to connect with your ideal client through your website (while while at the same time building credibility with search engines);
  • The very best place to position yourself for building trust and credibility with your client; and,
  • Tips for attracting the attention of new clients and search engines.

And, we’re throwing in lots of video tutorials to show you exactly what we are talking about!

When you sign up by midnight tonight, you will receive a special price and can attend all four webinars for $79. Feel free to take advantage of our offer and sign up now.

Tomorrow the series is still affordable at just $99 for the entire series – less than the cost of one clinical hour – so we hope you’ll tell your colleagues, too!

I look forward to seeing you there!

What If . . . ? I Need Your Feedback

Reaching Out

WOW!  I love the way that you guys have reached out . . . in comments here on the blog . . . in emails directly to me . . . and by phone, too.  Our vibrant community of professional connections and resources for building and strengthening your private practice continues to grow!  However, I’m feeling like I don’t get to spend as much time and support with each one of you as I would really like to.

I Need Your Help

I’ve been thinking about this a lot . . . about how to share even more information with you and what that format might look like.  This morning I realized that I’m trying to figure this all out all by myself. That’s not very smart and it’s not very effective.  It dawned on me that now I need your help.

A New Idea

I have this idea rumbling around in my head.  It’s about a mentor / coaching / collaborative business think tank to support you on your journey as you build your private practice.  I’m thinking about offering a one hour group phone call twice each month to a limited number of individuals.  On the calls, we will really drill down to what is keeping your practice from taking off.  Our conversations will be about your specific practice concerns. I will bring information and tips to share with you.  Together we will exchange resources and and ideas to keep you motivated and engaged so that you can do the work that you were meant to do.

What Do You Think?

But like I said, to create such a personal group,  I need your help.  Can you  give me your feedback?  I’m looking for your thoughts about:

  • Content.  What would you want to see included or addressed here?  Are there basic must-haves in order for this to be useful to you?
  • Questions.  What questions would you need to have answered in order to see the value in this type of group?
  • Value.  What would make this offer irresistable to you?
  • Cost.  What would you consider to be a fair fee for a group call twice monthly – one hour each?
  • Bonus.  What would be a bonus that I could add on for FREE?

Send your comments to me backchannel or leave them right here on the blog!

P.S.

I’m thinking of starting this group some time in January!  Yes?

New Meetup For Colorado Mental Health Professionals In Private Practice

Oct

2010

My colleague, Michelle L. Rollins, LPC, CAC III Image of Strength in Numbershad brilliant idea!  And, then she took action!  Michelle took the initiative to set up a Meetup group for mental health professionals in private practice in Colorado.  She publicized the event and asked her colleagues to do the same.  She invited me to speak on Strategic Networking to Build Your Private Practice (thank you!  thank you!).  And, a good time was had by all!

If you are a therapist or allied health professional and you are feeling a bit isolated, this is a great way to build your own social capital.  By helping other professionals meet and learn about each others’ practices, you will also be building your own circle of influence and professional image.

If you are already part of a Meetup group that is focused on mental health professionals, please take a moment and tell us how that’s working for you.  Share your tips and advice so that others can learn from your Meetup group and build a stronger community of solo entrepreneurs!
